The Khayelitsha Canoe Club, founded in 2013, is a community organization dedicated to teaching children swimming and canoeing while promoting environmental sustainability. They clean the local river, convert invasive water hyacinths into biochar for community gardens, and offer tours for cultural exchange and environmental education. Led by Siyanda Sopangisa, the club provides valuable skills and serves as a beacon of hope in the community.
