Mixing bicarbonate of soda (baking soda) with vinegar triggers a very strong chemical reaction creating lots of carbon dioxide gas. Together with the dishwashing liquid you get lots of foam.
You can use that foam to put down a small to medium fire quickly by directing the spray at the bottom of the fire.
⚠️ Do NOT use it on burning oil pots or electric cables. The burning oil might float on the contained water and grow the fire. Water might also transmit electric shocks from burning cables.

Having a fire extinguisher in immediate reach will help you fight a fire, while it is still small and before it destroys your home and threatens your neighbours.
Besides trying to put down the fire as quickly as possible with your fire extinguisher, their are additional steps in your first response to fire: inform the fire brigade immediately.

Of course, it is best to stop fires before they even start by taking precautions, e.g. by not having curtains near your stove. As beautiful as they are, they catch fire really quickly and after a fire, none of your belongings will be beautiful anymore.

After a devastating shack fire in Nomzamo in March 2022, dooiy tought the community how to build fire extinguishers and from people in that Kasi we know, that these fire extinguishers prevented at least one more fire.
