Basic recipe: Beans and lentils from a Smart Cooker

Utilize your smart cooker box, smart cooker from blankets, or wonderbag for this recipe. It’s a healthier and more cost-effective method of cooking without requiring any additional investment.

What you need

Cooking times vary between types of beans.

How you make it

Put lentils, black beans or kidney beans in a pot with water

Use 1 cup of water on 1 cup of lentils/beans.

Boil

Lentils and kidney beans for 10 minutes. Black beans for 15 minutes.

Place pot with lid in smart cooker

Lentils need 1-2 hours in smart cooker. Black beans need 3-4 hours. Kidney beans need 5-6 hours.

The pot should have the right size and be full. If the pot is too big, it does not work.

Wrap the pot tightly and remember to fasten the lid. Avoid opening the smart cooker inbetween, though you can safely leave it for longer if needed. Keep away the smart cooker from children!
