Reusable Sanitary Pads

Make your own reusable sanitary pads using a sock and a few household materials

In case you may not have access to sanitary pads during your menstruation, here is a tutorial on how to make your own washable sanitary pads.

These pads are environmentally friendly and a good and cheap alternative to disposable sanitary pads. To cover your whole menstruation, you need about 7 of these sanitary pads.

What you need

How you make it

Cut out the front of the sunlight package

Draw the shape of the disposable sanitary towel onto the sunlight plastic package

Cut out the shape of the disposable sanitary towel

Draw out the shape of the disposable sanitary towel wings

Cut out the shape of the disposable sanitary towel wings

Cut the edges the shape of the sanitary towel wings round

Cut the sides of the sock

Stretch the sock on the sides

Trace the shape of the cut out shape of the sunlight plastic package

Sew together the face towel as well as the sunlight plastic package together

Add and sew the sock fabric to the back of your reusable sanitary pad.

Trace with the chalk. Then cut and trim the edges of the sock fabric so that it fits the face towel shape (the front which is sewn and complete) if needed

Sew the fabric sock onto the rest of the fabrics that are already sewn in step 10

Sew the top of the sunlight plastic package with the sock fabric

Add the wings that you have sewn in step 13 onto the bigger portion that you have already sewn in 11

Add buttons by sewing them onto the wings of the reusable sanitary towel

Congratulation! You made it!
