Siyabonga StenganaThis can be a dump site e.g. near your house, close to a school or in the middle of your community.
Go around your community from door to door. Tell people about your plans and ask for their support. Support can be money, paint, tools, plants or physical help. Show them pictures how the space could look like. Tell them how they could benefit from the new space.
Important: you need people that are also willing to maintain the place, e.g. by watering the plants. Although ask for this.
Business owners are usually the most supportive.
Ask the youth in the community to help you cleaning the site. Most parents are extremely happy if their kids have something to do - especially if they even learn new skills.
